“Art Venice is a chance to explore the city through the eyes of artists from around the world called to exhibit their work here. We’ll focus on the Venice Biennale, art museums, installations, and private palaces open for special exhibits for a once in a lifetime experience—to see the miracle that is Venice as an on-going work of art.”

Overview

Itinerary

Day 1—As an introduction, there’s no better way to arrive in Venice than by boat. We’ll start by meeting our local guide, jumping in a taxi, cruising down the Grand Canal, and short-cutting through backwaters of the city. We’ll get a sense of daily life, passing working boats the make the city run, before arriving at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum for a guided tour. Afterwards, and on foot, we’ll make our way to the private home of a Venetian artist and share an aperitivo. A canal side group dinner awaits at sunset. (Sleep in Venice three nights)

Day 2—
The Venice Biennale, one of the biggest art exhibitions in the world, is based in two places: the pavilions of the city gardens and the historic warehouses of the Arsenale shipyard. With so much amazing art to see, we’ll visit the top exhibits together as a group and allow plenty of free time to wander, explore, and discover on your own. This evening we’ll regroup for a cicchetti crawl food tour.

Day 3—Navigating Venice is always a challenge, but using backstreets and traghetti to get around the crowds, we’ll hit several of the best and brightest temporary art exhibitions on display. We’ll visit the Punta Della Dogana and/or Palazzo Grassi, the decorative arts of the Fortuny Museum, and plenty of surprises along the way. After free time this afternoon we’ll enjoy a grand finale group dinner together.

Day 4—After breakfast and hotel check out, the day is yours to sightsee and explore some of the Biennale’s best satellite exhibits scattered across the city. We’ll help advise/provide connecting transportation as the case may be.

Tour itinerary is subject to change. Depending on day of the week, Days 1, 2 & 3 may be switched.
