Day 1. From our morning meeting point in Florence we’ll head south into the Chianti hills and our first vineyard visit at Azienda Vinicola. After a lunch break in Castellina in Chianti, we then check into our beautifully restored accommodations for three nights, welcomed by a group dinner together.
Day 2. A morning tasting at famed La Massa followed by lunch with rock star Tuscan butcher, Dario Cecchini. You won’t be hungry for dinner!
Day 3. Into the woods with a local truffle hunter we go, followed by lunch at Fonterutoli and a tasting aperitivo.
-
Day 4. We continue deeper into Tuscany today toward Montalcino. A morning meeting with winemaker Patrizia Cencioni and free time in town for lunch. This afternoon we explore the world of Brunello with a vertical tasting. Stay at Hotel Casa Mustiola.
Day 5. Tasting and vineyard visit at Casanova di Neri followed by lunch in town. This afternoon we meet one of the top winemakers in Italy, Roberto Cipresso.
Day 6. This morning is one for the memory books—a visit to Biondi Sant, the epitome of Brunello—and a free afternoon to enjoy Montalcino.
-
Day 7. We drive through mythical landscapes today on our way to the coast. A morning tasting at Chiappini, the afternoon at Macchiole, staying near Bolgheri.
Day 8. This morning we visit Bolgheri and the famed vineyard of Ornellaia, followed by grilled meats for lunch at La Magona.
Day 9. We’ll spend the better part of today in my hometown, Volterra, with a light tasting lunch and walking tour of the town. Then a grand last supper together.
Day 10. The tour concludes with transportation to Pisa’s airport (by 10am) and train station (10:30am). Arrivederci and hope to see you in Sicily!
