About Margaret
Margaret Cassady was a de facto tour guide from childhood, narrating sights on family road trips, convincing younger kids to follow her on walks around the neighborhood, and leading campus tours at Brown University. After ski bumming in Aspen and backpacking in Europe, she decided to make travel her career. As one of the earliest employees of Europe Through the Back Door (now Rick Steves’ Europe), she guided tours, helped customers plan trips, and was the webmaster back when AOL was the height of technology. After taking time off to raise her son and daughter, she’s thankful to be working in her dream career again, helping travelers experience the joy and wonder of this big beautiful world. When she's not on the road, she lives with her family in the Seattle area.
